Above Glen Ample
This was our survey site today. There were a few nasty wintry showers. I have been told that there was a massive rain storm here a few years ago which wreaked havoc; land slides on the surrounding mountain slopes. flooding on the shore line of Loch Earn and even now, what appears to be savagely scoured and eroded river beds. Around where this shot was taken there are massive mounds of rounded boulders within the outline of the river bed, The boulder in the image seems to be defying gravity balanced on that rock spur. I wonder if it was carried there by water a decade ago or ice a few thousand years earlier.
