Not my usual habitat ... shopping in Carlisle, that is. I regard it a bit like 'how long can I hold my breath underwater?'. I bolt in and out as fast as I can and get a bit panicky if the parking runs over an hour. Anyway, it was  a pretty wet old day and I had held off for as long as I could but needed to make a brief foray and so sweetened the pill by nabbing a nearby well.

Kirkandrews lies on the path of Hadrian's Wall but there is no longer any trace of St Andrew's church ... just the graveyard remains and you can just about make out an old headstone at the top of the picture.
