Regional Champion

Well, this is not all as it seems, but cool nonetheless.

Jnr Jnr has been going to an after-school fencing club once a week this year and is the youngest there.  She loves it though, and has no fear against the older and taller kids.

Well, her coach asked if she would like to enter the East Midlands regional championship where the top 4 from each category would qualify for the British Championships in May.  She wanted to, so I got all her membership sorted and entered her the other week.

Today was the day.

She was awarded the Gold medal and qualified!!  

Then again, she was the only entrant in the girls U12 sabre.....


ha ha

I have not been to one of these before, and the people who ran it were great and got her to fight the U12 boys so she got some action - she lost to the eventual winner by 5-2 and beat one the others :)  One of the judges gave her loads of advice and she got some additional training too.   I was pretty proud of her and am looking into some extra training (it's a right drive!) before May.
