Pomegranate......
.....a longer snooze in bed as Nancy returned late from drinks with Cat. Jumped up to make poached egg, toast with no crusts, freshly ground coffee and orange juice (from a carton) for her birthday breakfast. Cards opened and presents appreciated, we popped out to wash one of the presents so that it sparkled in the September sunshine.
Off to Vogrie to the traditional fair. Unfortunately they were packing away by the time we reached the estate so Owen and Jacob contended themselves with a coconut shy, and were awarded a coconut each (because I used to play rugby with the park ranger). A play on the miniture railway, then witnessed the drama of a derailment and thence to Aunty Kathleen's for more IT support.
Birthday tea was at Pomegranate, the restaurant formally known as Ferri's. Top middle eastern food and BYOB with no corkage, so pleasingly cheap. Then to the end of festival fireworks from Calton Hill and finally home to collapse. What a busy day.
This image is Owen and Jacob. Owen is happily wearing my kilt of 33 years vintage. Popa Rention bought it when I entered a dancing competition. Mum has kept it pristine all these years......of course, Owen immediately wore it on Calton Hill, sitting amongst the grass and mud.
