Alien Landing
Spotted this beautiful Dragonfly at work today... strange place to see one as there aren't any ponds around there....
I love these creatures, they're so otherworldly... It's also quite apt as I'm teaching at the weekend, running my carboniferous dragonfly workshop. Basically getting the kids to make huge versions of these... Can you imagine being around in the carboniferous period, where the air was so oxygen rich that lifeforms would grow massive... One of these fellas could have a wing span a metre wide... imagine this face with it's nashing jaws looming at you and flapping around your head, but bigger than the average seagull...
so with that thought, I'll finish with the crimewatch catchphrase... don't have nightmares, do sleep well... ; )
