Red-legged or French Partridge.

Today’s picture is of one of the two partridges seen in our garden this morning. It is sometimes called a Red-legged Partridge or a French Partridge, to distinguish it from the English Grey Partridge. This is the first time I have seen this species of bird in our garden.
