Onwards and Upwards

Another drive today, but not as long as the last couple of days. We did the final stretch from Inverness up to Gills Bay on the north coast, and then got the ferry across to Orkney. We finally arrived at the cottage after nearly twelve hours actual driving time, but spread over three days. And a lovely cottage it is too; right on its own pier at Stromness, with lovely views out over the bay, as shown on my picture. The cottage is amazingly well equipped too; everything we could need and then some. A little problem on arrival; most of the electrical sockets were off, clearly only needing a circuit breaker to be reset but of course, that was behind a locked door. A quick phone call to the owner in South Africa and the local contact came round and reset it; the wonders of modern technology!
