Myrtle Tree

There comes a time when plants, trees and bushes outgrow the garden and you have to make the hard decision to replace them.

We have had a myrtle tree here since we moved into the house some 14 years ago and it has got too big.  The first step was to cut it right back - which was the easy bit.  

Today came the digging out and if ever there was evidence that we have done the right thing is is the fact that it took a good hour and a half of hard work and digging to get it out and i think there are still some roots left.

Couldn't resist the colour of the bark, so this is a final reminder of the pleasure the tree gave us.
