Mellieha church
After just over three hours sitting cramped in a Ryanair sardine tin, and a scary taxi drive from the airport, Chris and I arrived in the dark streets of Mellieha, not knowing where our apartment was in the jumble of buildings. The owner came to fetch us after Chris rang him and explained our plight and showed us round the rather luxurious flat that it to be our base for the next four days. This is the view of the church from our balcony. In daylight we can also see the sea and rocky coast and look over a shallow valley with abandoned allotments that attracts a range of warblers and a lot of Spanish sparrows!
