'A love that never dies' – the premiere
One of the key films of the Stroud Film Festival is 'A love that never dies', which had its premiere tonight in the local Vue cinema. It is a feature length documentary made by Jane Harris and Jimmy Edmonds, two local film makers who live in Chalford, just a couple of miles away up the Golden Valley. They have been keen supporters of the festival since it began three years ago.
Jane and Jimmy have made this film as a response to their grief following the death of Josh, one of their three children, aged 23, in a motorbike accident in Vietnam in 2011. I'm sure all those watching it think they have done the right thing.
They have started a charity called the 'Good Grief Project' and this is just the beginning of what will be a major part of their lives from now on, as it will be for the all the other people they met in the film who have also experienced loss which might be similar, but never the same.
Visit the 'website – http://thegoodgriefproject.co.uk – and when they find distributors for the film whether in cinemas, on tv or on disc, do try to see it. We all need to understand a bit more about how grief can affect us and others and how to learn to live again. They say that 'grief is the form love takes when someone dies'.
