Xàtiva Castle

A terrific 'away day' today.......with our U3A.....we were driven inland and up into the Valencian mountains to explore the impressively large Xàtiva Castle which commands a magnificent panoramic view over the surrounding countryside.
The Romans were here first.....followed by the Moors, then the Christians.
High up in the Castle there are Arabic fountains, a Catholic Chapel and old bronze cannons.......something of interest for most visitors!
One of the fountains and a cannon have just squeezed into today's Blip of the Castle on the crest of the highest hill!
