Keeping the Marauders at Bay

Last day of our little sojourn in Shropshire today and it's been a bit of a cold day with some drizzle.  But we haven't let that stop us!  All up and down the border in this Marches countryside, there are wonderful castles, some of which are more ruined than others.  This one is in Ludlow and what a magnificent castle it is!  Any marauders attacking here also have to deal with the River Teme, which now has this lovely old bridge across it.  There's a great cafe just the other side of the bridge too, called the Green Cafe.  (It would be great for a Blipmeet !)  We had some of the best soup we've ever had but were very lucky to get a table at all - they squeezed us in on a table that was available for 30 minutes!  We thought it was a little riverside snack place.  How wrong we were!  Our soup was Red lentil and cauliflower, with fresh turmeric and cumin, served with chopped walnuts and onions, and fresh sourdough bread and butter.  Delicious!

Before that we had to go to a local dealer to have our AdBlu topped up!  Very quick!  Made us laugh though that the car's sat nave couldn't find the dealer!  So new the postcode wasn't recognised!  Oh the irony!

We bought a very expensive old box in Ludlow market to put our shoes in in the porch.  Long story.  Don't think I've told you that one, but we are to get a free new hall, stairs and landing carpet from the manufacturers as their stain resistant product has proved not to be...  We are resolved not to wear our shoes on the new one...  Hence the fancy solid old wooden box to go in the porch...

We came back to our little apartment (Not so little Actually) up SHH's favourite roads - you know, those ones with grass growing up the middle that you can just about squeeze the car up.  Fortunately for me, we didn't meet any other vehicles or I would not have been very popular.

THEN we went out on the bikes and golly was it cold and windy!  Must have been the speed we were going!  We were very pleased to get back but we were out for about 45 minutes so must have done a few miles up those lanes with the grass in the middle and the mud up the sides...  What fun!

AND now we have had a little adventure into Lightroom!  But just a little one!

We have had a lovely week in a lovely part of England and are looking forward to seeing some Blippers on Sunday and Monday and investigating cameras a little more at the Photography Show on Monday.  Hope to see some of you there.
