A golden day.

Up for an early (7.30am) walk around St Ives with the ladies this morning - early as one of our number was going back to work in school today.

Not me thank goodness I was meeting up with ex colleagues in Golden Acre Park on the outskirts of Leeds.

It was a glorious sunny and warm day and consequently it was quite busy with people making the most of this unexpected bonus after all the rain in August.

There were some signs of the season to come with masses of bright red rose hips and some trees displaying red leaves but it was mainly late summer at it's best with kite flying, ducks and gees to feed on the lake and lots of wonderful flowers.

I am not normally a great fan of Dahlias but the park is the home to the National Dahlia Society and some were impossible to ignore.

This one is stunning and the colours are straight from the camera with no tweeking!
