Bouquet by The Mere

Thank you so much everyone for your good wishes for me playing the organ for the funeral today, I really appreciate your comments and support.

When I arrived, there were lots of musicians from our local folk  community and scarily also someone that is a brilliant professional pianist and organist! 

It was a lovely service with my friend giving a very humorous eulogy about his father. The singing was wonderful - especially Guide me oh thou great Jehovah (all the parts being sung). I got through it without playing wrong notes or missing or adding a verse I'm relieved to say! 

We went to the Boathouse in Ellesmere for a superb afternoon tea and I was presented with the gorgeous bouquet which was a real surprise. The Mere is in the background - it's the view from the Boathouse.

It was great to meet present and old friends and we had a lovely afternoon although it was for a sad occasion. His dad would really have approved!
