The old homestead.

My parent's house deep in rural Aberdeenshire, where I was raised. It's two former estate worker's cottages (built in late 1800s) knocked together to make one long but narrow dwelling. The upstairs rooms are in the space underneath the sloping roof so are an awkward shape to furnish efficiently. My sister and I had to put up posters on walls at very severe angles when we were young! Parents have recently done a lot of refurbishment including putting built in furniture into the upstairs rooms which works a lot better and makes them more user friendly. In front of the house is the garden, including a vegetable patch, but my Dad's veg plants haven't done well this year as lots of them rotted in the constant damp.
