It’s a wrap!
Students pack their equipment at Craigynos castle after three days filming ready for the long trek back to Scotland.
Meanwhile we are taking a more leisurely return with an overnight in Crickhowell.
It’s been interesting to watch my Scottish friends reaction to their first encounter with Welsh people and Wales.
They re struck by the overwhelming friendliness of everyone. This morning we were recording children singing in Welsh in a local primary school and without hesitation the headmistress invited us all in, not just the recording crew and director, and told to help ourselves to coffee.
Later Maria the director struggled to get a good shot of the castle from the opposite side of the valley and a passing ranger from Brecon wildlife trust stopped and took her to an excellent viewpoint across several fields.
Oh yes and we have heard yet again that opera singer Adelina Patti, one time owner of Craiynos castle had a fling with the Prince of Wales (later to become Edward VII) and the railway station she had specially built on the opposite side of the valley was to accommodate him as well as other famous celebrities of that time.
