Signs of Spring 231

Tonight is a hand-in night at the Camera Club for the open competition and I have spent much of last night and most of today preparing something to hand-in.  It was one of the things I had resolved to do - enter the competitions, get the feedback and develop critical skills through the contributions of others.

But it has been a bit of a slog getting these entries together.  My critical skills must be developing as shots I thought were excellent a few months ago aren't anymore.  I have yet to acquire Photoshop skills which might allow me to add some polish and getting prints together is full of twists and traps.  Just hope the feedback will make the effort worthwhile.

I suspect more experienced photographers are able to identify competition quality entries as they go through the year.  Anyway, tree peony leaves are sprouting from very dead looking branches.  I hope there are some buds in there this year.
