Otto's Ottifanten

Another cultural difference/reference that I don't know.  However they've made it on to stamps and I needed something to blip.

Otto and his Ottifanten (mainly focussed on the baby Bruno Bommel, his parents Renate & Paul & his Grandfather only ever known as Opa*) never made it to Britain.  And if they had have made it, I'm sure I would have looked askance at a "cartoon" coming from Europe, too often burned by watching a 10 minute animated film that was about as funny as Eraserhead.

Very much unlike this.

Doctor's Appointment this morning.  Still ill, I now have 2 new lots of painkillers to take.  I look forward to tonight and possibly sleeping for more than 2 hours - that sounds like luxury.

The only other thing of note happened last night.  Around 9:30 Munni turned up in my office, very excited about something.  She gave her special inistent Miaow (Miau in German), which got my attention.  What really grabbed my attention was a very high-pitched "Feep-feep-feep" that followed it.  I switched the overhead light on and spotted that I now also had a shrew** for company.  It scurried under my rucksack and told me it was unhappy by feeping again.

I managed to catch it without too much difficulty - poor thing was probably still in shock - and it was taken out and released (it seemed to be fine judging by how quickly it disappeared).

I checked this morning and there was no sign of it (which makes me very happy).
