Moss and Lichen on a Rock

I have a big rock under my weeping Japanese Maple Tree and I noticed there were some interesting growth on it; the best I can tell they are some kind of moss and lichen. I looked it up on line and found some information in a gardening articles that this is very desirable in the garden for visional interest. It continued by saying that it was difficult to add it to your garden were you want it.......so I guess I am lucky; from now on I will appreciate the beauty of it (although I will have to get really close to see it or use my telephoto lens since it is very tiny).    :-))
