Home again
We tidied up at the accomodation and drove north. D did most of the driving but I managed a couple of hours worth. We veered on to the A68 at Darlington as relief from the wretched M1/A1(M)/A1 and all their attendant roadworks. It was a lovely journey - lots of blackthorn blooming in the hedgerows and we spotted a few newborn lambs.
We'd just heard the announcement that the First Minister had given her preferred time frame for a second independence referendum as we came over the border at Carter Bar. First flag we spotted flying outside a wee house at the roadside was a saltire with the golden stars of Europe superimposed. :-)
Then home to empty the car, fill the washing machine, etc etc. We tottered round to Pizza Express for our tea and then went for an early bath.
