Multiverse
I've been meaning to take a shot of this forever. It's a light sculpture, the largest and most complex designed by Leo Villareal.
I love art work that is "useable" and that you can become part of: this surrounds the 200-ft walkway that links the East wing to the West wing of the National Gallery of Arts in Washington. It features about 41,000 computer-programmed LED nodes and the pattern of the lights is constantly changing. Not for those prone to epilepsy!
btw, yesterday I spoke of cell phones and photography. To disprove that statement altogether, here's the poster of an exhibit in which three of my cell phone images were included. The reception was great fun, as was looking at the other images; some amazing stuff can be done even with a cell phone's camera!
