Got Goldfinches?

This is a fairly regular occurrence here - massive flocks of goldfinches. Today, there was this crowd on the rock, plus they were all over the ground under the feeders. Today I think the birds may well be sensing the barometer falling and snow on its way. But I notice that some of the males in this crowd are starting to show some bright yellow feathers - a sign that Spring is on its way, despite the coming snowstorm. If we're lucky, we here in our area will only get a few inches tonight and tomorrow. But further north of us will be another story altogether.
