Brims is Frisian for hornets. These insects are mainly a nuisance to horses. They are also called hynstebiters (paardenbijters). The artwork is an abstraction of the tail of a horse bearing two hornets. Buitenpost is also a place where traditional horse fairs were held. Nowadays, there is an annual Concours Hippique. Brims is further also a nickname of the inhabitants of Buitenpost.
