Life In Wales

Madrid

We've spent the day in Madrid today, with a night at a hotel in the city centre before returning home tomorrow.

We've seen a lot in a short space of time (thanks to tips from Steve - Welshman in Budapest) including the Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and the Opera. Then before going out to dinner we spent some time relaxing by the roof top pool which has amazing views over the city.

It's taken some time to decide which photo to blip today as there are so many, I wanted to chose one of the skyline from the roof terrace, but Alan said that he thought this one was a better photograph - it''s one of the shopping streets close to the hotel, and because of the heat and the amount of sunshine, they have covers to provide shade - it's really effective and the shadows on the ground are amazing.

I was suprised how busy it was on a Sunday and that the shops were open - in Belgium nothing is open on Sundays.

Anyway, we're leaving early in the morning to go to the airport, so I'll say goodnight.
