Apartment Building Mural

We left the Nice apartment today and won't be back til Christmas. I thought it fitting that my photo today was taken as we left the apartment building.

Ten years ago when we bought the place, we did a flathunting trip and saw lots of apartment buildings, and by and large the entrance areas were somewhere between unremarkable and downright grotty. This old town building stood out immediately as it had (a) amazing trompe l'oeil murals painted on the walls of the entrance lobby, and (b) a gate rather than a door so that the aforementioned murals were proudly on display to passers-by! Well it worked on us as we signed up to buy the flat the same day we first saw it.

Ten years down the line and we've still never seen an apartment building like it. Makes us (and our paying guests I hope) feel all special :-)
