Oh For the Wings, for the Wings...
So while he decided to spend his evening, in a damp tent here, I lay, prone on the sofa, and chose my evening viewing wisely.
it took me some time. we have swapped tv provider and I haven't had the opportunity to operate the system. It took me twenty minutes to switch the TV on.
I watched Florence Foster Jenkins. Heavens above... What an amazing movie.
Have you watched?
Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.
An extraordinary love story.
She was rich and deluded, and he was Hugh Grant, but loved her gently. She wanted to sing, and believed she could. She was a sponsor of the Arts in Manhattan, but her greatest dream was to sing at Carnegie hall.
And she did.
Quite, quite awfully.
I was mesmerized. She sung (and she was real, you can listen to her singing on Youtube ) just like me. I know I'm not a good singer, but boy I can give it laldy. My boss will testify to that. My rendition of Amazing Grace has to be heard to be beholden. The stairwell in our office has amazing acoustics. Well it has a big echo, and that I love.
At my sister's wedding, as the organ struck the first chords, and the audible intake of breath was heard from behind us, ready to go... "Ahhhhhhhmaaaaaaaazing....... " , she turned to me, glared and said "Don't you dare".
Pah pah pah pah
