Spring corner

This is a corner of my spring garden.  Given that it is currently covered by scaffolding and dirt from the roof repairs it is still looking lovely.  

A quiet sunday at home and a little time spent in the garden pruning the apple tree (hope it is not too late) and trying to lay a bit of the hawthorn hedge to give us a little more privacy along the footpath edge of our garden.  We have had tree ivy growing above the stone wall for years but it seems that the voles have stripped the bark on a lot of the stems so it has all died back leaving large viewing holes along the footpath.. so there is much to be done to address that before the summer.  l guess the ivy will grow back again one day but it looks like it might take its time
