Grasmere Early-Morning

I awoke to a significant birthday and drove down to Grasmere for my favourite circular walk, taking in Loughrigg Fell, Ambleside (for tea and cakes) and Rydal. It was a misty start to the day but this view, looking northwards across the lake from the foot of Loughrigg Terrace, is always spectacular. You can usually count on a few mallards to paddle into the scene, a bit like extras adding interest.
