home of harry hotspur, blackadder and harry potter - and a crowd of american students. meet alnwick castle. from here, if you could lean out further and look across the road to the right, you'd see part of my old school. what am i doing here? i'm assisting with the scrubbing down and laundering of two flats in the barbican, ie inside and behind the big front gate bit. the flats are lovely, but the weeny, windy spiral stairs are a pain in the proverbial when you're lugging the cleaning gear and laundry and rubbish in and out! still, it got it done and meant i a) earned pennies and b) earned the warm glow of being useful.
