A short detour

on the way home to blip this very derelict truck I spotted a couple of weeks ago - I wonder how long it's been sitting here for it be covered in all that lichen?
A very long slow trip home today after getting caught in another torrential downpour in Auckland. Surface flooding on SH1 with poor visibility but thankfully people were driving to the conditions.  Very glad to be home safely but feel very sorry for all those affected by the flooding of today and the past few days.  When we arrived home we found that the little stream at the bottom of the garden which is usually no more than a mere trickle had flooded across some of the garden meaning it had risen about five feet at some time during this mornings deluge - which has only ever happened once before.  Ironically Aucklanders are being asked to conserve water due to the water supply filtration plant struggling to cope due to the sudden silt build up from the record rainfall.
Many thanks to AngelsShare for hosting Derelict Sunday
