Basking in the sun

I've been wanting to get a shot of the swans on the sandbar for a while now but they are only there when the sun is in the wrong place because it is always mid morning. So since they will be moving on any day this is the best I can get. Maybe with more knowledge of my camera I could get a better shot. I used my Canon power shot instead of the Rebel sxi.
