Back to front

The day started of unusually. There was the standard shop for the elderly relatives but, when I came to pay, everything on the chip and pin unit was in mirror form. Fortunately (!?) it seemed to work when you entered the PIN.

Then down to North Berwick to visit my mother and, under her instructions, do some gardening. The biggest challenge for me, as she approaches her 97Th birthday, was to stop her mucking in as well.

As I left I detoured round by Althelstaneford - see extra. I did so as the radio commentary ahead of the Calcutta Cup was in the build up. Realism tinged with optimism and I thought I'd add a touch of hope by visiting the birthplace of the Saltire. False hope - at least for today.
