Young .....
..... Matty.
Today the weather has been lovely in Ilkley so I texted Mr M and Alison to see if they fancied going out for a bike ride after I'd finished work this evening. Both texted straight back saying yes.
We arranged to set off from Alisons at 5pm, but as always when I arrived Ali wasn't ready, so after she had gotten changed, got her bike out and spent 5 minutes looking for her water bottle ( which she didn't find ) we set off at quater past five ( you can probably tell I have a thing about time keeping ).
Along on the bike ride with Alison, Mr M and myself was Young Matty ( hes less than half the age of the rest of us on the ride ) who is staying at Mr M's house whilst he is working in Yorkshire. Mr M has known Matty's family for years after meeting them when he worked on engineering projects in eastern Europe.
We decided to do the Rib breaker bike ride over Middleton moor which is a nice mix of hills and off road moor riding. Matty was nice and quick on the roads but not so keen on the off road moor sections. Alison was as nippy as ever on the moor, but I managed to keep up with her today. This photo was taken on the top of the moor where it flattens out. Myself Alison and Mr M waited for Matty to catch us up and I took this photo of him smiling knowing the worst ( or best ) of the hard off road climb was behind him. You can just see March ghyll resevoir to the right of the photo.
The rest of the route was a mainly downhill and fun on road ride but with a few bumpy tracks and a short section through some woods. When we arrived back in Ilkley we stopped off in the beer garden at Bar tats for a swift pint. I'm now back home and about to tuck in to a nice Thai green curry.
As he survived the rib breaker ride ( without it living up to its name ) today's blip is.....
..... Young Matty.
