Silly Saturday

Needing a wake-up jolt of caffeine,
Herby orders A Mongo-Sized,
Cuppa Joe: To go

Then heads to the additives.
For a bit of sweetner.
With cup tetttering near the edge of the counter,
He reaches for 3 packets of sugar .

Before he can pop the top,
There’s a bit of a surprise,
That innocuous plastic lid,
Slowly morphs into a sorta face.

Herby shakes his head,
Three too many, 
Shots of Tequila last night, 
Old Buddy,
