Haleakala Silverswords

  The poster child of the conservation movement to continue to save Hawai'i's unique native flora.  Argyroxiphium sandwicense subsp. macrocephalum, the Haleakala silversword it it related genera are a spectacular reminder of what happens with time on island. One rather unspectacular sunflower relative arrived eons ago from California and involved into perhaps  at least 3 genera.
