Big Buddha is watching you
We went to Lantau, to visit the Po Lin monastery. We were expecting to take a 25 minute cable card ride to get there, but on the way we discovered that's out of action for 5 months for a "rope replacement" so we ended up with a white-knuckle bus ride instead.
The monastery is beautiful, and I'd a lot of shots to choose from - included one group of tourists desperately trying to save their picnic from a temple cow that decided to tuck in, and people keeping their mobile phones in hand with one eye on the screen while performing their prayers. But I couldn't pass by the Tian Tan Buddha, massively impressive at 112 feet tall and sitting at the top of 268 steps, overlooking the monastery complex.
