A Nepalese performer at the Mela

You may wonder what the hell I was doing at the Mela Festival when I was supposed to be working... ok, what happened was that when I got to work this morning, I was informed that I was supposed to have the day off. It would have been great to know in advance, but there was a bit of a miscommunication issue somewhere. I was annoyed at the start, since I'd gone all the way to work for nothing, but then I just decided to enjoy my unexpected day off.

As the weather was nice, and I live in Leith, I decided to walk down to Leith Links and enjoy the Mela Festival. It's a very interesting multicultural festival and the atmosphere is great! I bumped into a couple of folk I knew (I always bump into somebody I know when I go to this festival) and I saw lots of people with big cameras taking pictures. I'm pretty sure there were quite a few blippers out there. The performances were great and I did enjoy myself.

Decided to go home after a while and I'm now just relaxing and getting ready for the end of Festival fireworks this evening. I'll be meeting a friend later on to go and see them!
