I was wrong!!
In March I blipped about a trip we made down to the Olympic Park and I wrote this:
I have to say that I am not overly enthusiastic about all the hype surrounding the London Olympics. To be honest the site doesn't look all that impressive either at the moment and as for the viewing tower........well!! At least it could have been a giant helter-skelter. What on earth is THAT all about?
Well I'm putting my hand up and saying that I was wrong. The last few weeks have seen the Olympics and now the Paralympics become a major feature. It has been wonderful. We all have tales to tell about our favourite moments and it seems that it has given us all a sense of pride.
Today I returned from my visit to London, travelling through Stratford on the line to Ipswich. It looks a lot different to how it did in March and it was quite exciting to think that events were going on as I passed through. I met up with a couple who were on the train down yesterday and had spent the afternoon/evening in the stadium and had had a great time.
Sorry about quality of photo. Not easy from a moving train and I didn't have my big camera with me.
Edit: Have back blipped for yesterday.
