Black-tailed Prairie Dogs

There is much controversy about Prairie Dogs in Colorado.  They are considered pests by many, especially land developers.  Unfortunately, many times whole colonies are wiped out in the name of progress.  This 'town' is protected on public land but still there are people who don't want them there.  So far, our side is winning :-)  Here is an interesting article about them from the Defenders of Wildlife.  It's very short and worth having a look if you have a few minutes.  Thanks, as always, to Cailleach for hosting Wild Wednesdays!
