AND NOW TO THE POOL....
Interesting that a country as big as this, with all the water and flooding that can occur here, many people cannot swim and are afraid of the water.
It is changing here in Nanchang, many more pools, indoor and out, some still swim in the dangerous and fast moving yellowish colour silt, Gan river.
I was asked to go swimming Saturday evening in the local pool..a 50mx25m outdoor... and as a Scuba Diver and as an old Lifesaver Swimmer, I said YES and so as with many thing I do, I took some students with me.
This is Joanna, who has never been in the water in her life...like many...so she asked, " how to swim"...a common question. The answer is...get comfortable in the water and learn to float and also to hold your breath and put your head under...it took her the better part of 2 hours to get to this picture, she still cant float...but...as i have seen many times here before, people over come their fear...as did jo...(Photo by Iain Dewar)...back from beyond...
