Queen Victoria's Mail Box

This is my nearest post box, set into the wall of an old stone cottage. The  letters 'V R' show that it was installed in Queen Victoria's reign; it is an 1890 model.

Although it is still well-used and emptied on 6 days a week, the letter slot is really tiny and most mail has to be folded several times in order to go in.
