On the Surface

Trying to think of what I've done today - on the face of it, nothing much worth mentioning.

 Actually, I have been busy - laundry, planting shrubs, looking for car insurance quotes, shredding half a tree's worth of ancient paper that was lurking in the filing system, etc, etc.

Talking of trees - I forgot to mention that I was also acting as assistant lumberjack, holding the rope while TM took down one of our weed willows which was beginning to smother a hazel sapling.

That job done, I went back to the house, while TM sawed it into sections and loaded up the wheelbarrow. (This is happening on a steep slope). He gave the barrow a hefty shove uphill, his feet slid backwards, he fell flat on his face, the barrow tipped, and large lumps of tree rained down on his head.  And I missed it - the best, the only, blip opportunity of the day!

I asked for a re-enactment - can't think why he wouldn't. So this damp pussy-willow will have to do.
