Better on Sunday
This photo is actually from Saturday, but it captures the better mood we were all in on Sunday. Wilson took my mom for a two-hour walk then we all met for dinner. After, we visited for a few minutes in her room, and when she said she needed to pack up all her clothes to take them home, I said, "Maybe you should just keep them in the closet till you leave in a few days." I dropped my "gentle truth" approach and went back to lying. That seemed to work better.
It's hard to know when you can build on a strategy and when you have to abandon it and start from scratch.
I think the combination of being tired from her walk, having us all there, visiting and joking, and not talking about actually LIVING there helped make it a smoother transition.
