Blencathra.
We headed out for Carrock Beck with the intention of taking water shots. However I wasn't wildly excited by any of mine. So instead I settled for this shot of Blencathra with a touch of snow. To the left is Souter Fell (pronounced Sowter) and to the right Bowscale Fell.
A couple of observations at the ford on Carrock Beck. One amusing and one annoying. The amusing was a long low sports car which drove up to the ford stopped, considered, reversed and asked if cars could get through. The ford was a raging torrent of water the best part of four inches deep about 15 feet wide and smooth surfaced.
The annoying one. The fell side had a number of colourful balloons, 2 large brightly coloured helium balloons and a bunch of flowers. Going by the chorus of Goodbyes as people were leaving it was in memorial of somebody perhaps even the scattering of ashes. If this was the deceased favourite place I am not sure how they would have reacted to the litter left when the balloons deflate and the flowers wither inside their plastic wrapping.
