Rowe St Talk
This is Bryan Fitzgerald, the president of the Rowe St Society and one of the speakers at a talk I attended on Rowe St.
He is an avid collector with a focus on Sydney’s social history from late 1800’s until c1950, and is pictured here taking questions from the floor.
Rowe Street was a centre for Sydney's bohemian life from the late 19th century until the 1970s, described in 1931 as "the primrose path of dalliance".
I am old enough to remember Rowe St, now subsumed by the MLC Centre, and to have enjoyed a coffee or two there.
