Rainy day fun

The weather forecast said it was going to be bad - and it was, to the point I didn't go out running - rowing machine instead.  Yesterday evening, a friend who grew up near by invited us to his mothers and maybe a trip to the local children's farm.  Perfect, as I was struggling to think of how to get out of the house and leave the student in peace.

Thank goodness for that row this morning... I arrived at my friends, to find a full English on the table waiting for me - being British meant it was way too rude to turn this down, so two breakfasts for me - yum.  The toddler did help with a sausage (of the three I had).  The friend we were visiting once helped me move flats and ate 12 sausages when we stopped off for lunch at my parents.  We braved the weather to go to the children's farm and play area just round the corner from them - it was brilliant!!! The toddler had the absolute best time going up and down the huge slide, over the obstacle course and then into the ball pond.  All done many, many, many times.  Thanks Mark for keeping up with him and your own boy!

Suffice to say, I came home with two very tired children (objective of every day!) after a lovely lunch with my friends and lots of grown up chat with old friends for me.  Win, win all round - even for the student getting his quiet house.
