Maeve the Deerhound slept through until the alarm clock ... and beyond !
There was a little bit of a struggle on the back legs when she did get up but we managed a normal walk.
Grocery shopping over by mid morning. Maeve stayed at home.
We went the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach and Kiel to Carskey Bay. Lots of seals on the rocks at Kiel. We stopped at Kiel to get some photos of a derelict cottage which is set behind and above an outcrop of rocks with broom in flower, backed by brightly lit woods behind with the trees showing dark shadowy lines on the hillside. We watched the seals for a few minutes too. One young seal decided it didn't want to sun itself on the rocks so it slid into the water and spent the next minute or two swimming along parallel with the shore, leaping out of the water now and again like a Dolphin riding a bow wave.
At Carskey we walked along with Maeve to the far end and came back again. Maeve was off her lead and managed very well. The sun was out, the sea deep blue with the light sparkling on the surface. Out on the horizon a cargo ship was making its way along towards Sanda and Sheep islands. Tiny waves were just breaking as they reached the shore. Maeve didn't want to paddle.
There were plenty eggs for sale at Little farm's roadside stand today. I bought a box.
Later Apothecary7 was cutting cloth for the last phase of her rag rug.
Afternoon music ... BBC Radio 2.
