Spring rain

Goodness, the heavens opened this morning.  I rang my brother and he had visited a friend and it had even been snowing in North Staffs !

But in the garden, these beautiful spring flowers were enhanced and nourished by the raindrops.

I made a fairly dismissive comment about my football team  (Nottingham Forest) yesterday, out of frustration and disappointment, but the game was quite a surprise. We were awful in the first half but had some lucky breaks (saves mainly by our young Academy goalkeeper) and in the second half we had some more luck. A goal with his first shot from our sub (who should have started but that's another story). A fumble from the visiting goalkeeper for our second - and then a penalty. We don't get luck like that every week.  Sorry, Brighton, you were the better side, but we'll take any points that are going.....
