Bonus Day!

Dolly here again!

It's a bonus day because Mum was SUPPOSED to go back to work today but she is not feeling well and so she called in sick. I know I shouldn't be happy about that, but I AM happy that she has stayed home with me!! She's coughing and sneezing and blowing her nose, but she's not SERIOUSLY ill, which is a good thing because we got to be cosy at home and watched another big ski race! Today was the women's 30km race in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti, Finland. It was very exciting!! Our favourite, Charlotte Kalla from Sweden, was doing SO well and should have been on the podium, but she fell and lost a pole right at the last stretch and no time to recover - she came in 7th. Gold, Silver and Bronze ALL went to Norwegian skiers!! Poor Charlotte! One of them WOULD have been hers!!

Mum is REALLY glad she called in sick - she found out later that 'her trip' to San Francisco didn't leave until 9pm - over 7 hours late!! What a nightmare!!

Mum did a little bit of 'desk work' in the afternoon, but finally we got ready for a walk. BAD timing! It started to rain as we got into the car!! Mum has very bad timing when it comes to walkies! The sun was shining earlier!! Oh well - I crossed my legs and let Mum do the Waitrose shop first and we went walkies after that. It had stopped raining and since Mum loves clouds, she was pleased to get a few good pictures.

At least Mum got us pizza for dinner! Fab! It was worth the wait!! We had pizza while catching up on Homeland. We've just finished episode 3. Anyone else finding this series a bit boring? Does it get any better??
