Happy lion...
...sunning hinself in St Andrew's Square. I'm very fond of this statue but until now hadn't known who carved it or indeed anything else about it. It's by Ronald Rae and used to be in Holyrood Park - a fitting place in some respects as Arthur's Seat is in the shape of a lion too. Here's a link to Ronald Rae's website with more info on it. I see that the lion is for sale, so I hope a rich Edinburgher will buy it so it can stay here!
